Looking For Jets For Sale? Considerations Before Buying a Jet

When looking for jets for sale, most prospective buyers are going to be using the aircraft for business. They will want to know the make, model, size, horsepower, and if it is a turbo prop. Any extra additions to the engine, instruments, or interior are considerations that will make the jet more desirable. Pictures say a thousand words.

Jet engines can go longer before engine overhaul than a piston engine. When inspecting the maintenance log, consider the TBO as well as TT on the airframe, as these inspections and maintenance schedules will be costly as well as be time-consuming. Most buyers want to fly their new purchase immediately.

Because jet airplanes are in the upper end of aircraft purchases, often the jet will be delivered to the new owner. Restored or refurbished interiors enhance sales appeal as well as a beautifully maintained exterior finish. If the plane has been exposed to a lot of weather or wear and tear and lack of TLC, new cosmetics can camouflage larger problems. Again, check the maintenance logs to be sure the jet is really as good as it looks. It never hurts to take along a good jet mechanic to give an outside opinion.

Many jets for sale are eligible for the Bonus Depreciation and increased 179 Expensing offered by the 2009 Stimulus Bill. There are also special financing packages with only five percent down as compared to previous financing at fifteen percent down payment.

Buying a jet is a major purchase and should be carefully considered before making a choice. There are many jets for sale right now, and if you are in the market for one, this might be the opportune time to make that purchase.

When speed and luxury are the objective in air travel, nothing can compare to a jet.
